ABSTRACT
CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) system has become the mainstream
development of train control systems in the world today and has been widely
adopted in many major cities such as New York, Madrid, Paris, London, Beijing,
and Hong Kong's subway systems. The Wenhu Line and Circular Line of the Taipei
Metro and Taichung Green Line of the Taichung Metro also use this technology for
their train control systems. The Urbalis 400 (referred to as U400) train control
system developed by French company Alstom is a representative product of this
technology. The Wanda Line, currently under construction, will also adopt this
system. This article briefly explains the structure of the U400 system, including the
various subsystems that make up the system and the main functions, to better
understand the characteristics of the CBTC system.
