Abstract
The proposed Klang Valley MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line
(SSP Line) is approximately 52.2km in length comprising the elevated works,
underground works and one deport of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) System.
The Underground Works (UGW) packages of the SSP Line is approximately
13.5km of twin bored tunnel with ten new underground stations, an existing
station, two crossover box structures, three intermediate ventilation shafts,
three escape shafts and one at grade cut & cover structure.
The design & construction contract of SSP Line UGW awarded to MGKT
(MMC-GAMUDA) company and then AECOM company assigned as Lead
Design Consultant (LDC) to in charge of preliminary design, coordination and
integration work. Moreover, CECI company is invited as a Detailed Design
Consultant (DDC) and to do civil and structure detailed design works of
DDC7.
DDC7 detailed design works packages are including the design of civil
works, temporary works and permanent works for the two new underground
stations, Chan Sow Lin Station and Conlay Station. DDC7 packages also
incorporate the structural enhancement works due to E&M opening of
existing Tun Razak Exchange Station and the supervision in chief works.
The experiences of BIM application into design and integration for MRT
underground station and the challenge and breakthrough during the design
phase for the two stations will be elaborated and introduced for further
reference.
Keywords: MRT underground station, KVMRT SSP Line, BIM collaboration
