                 輕軌運具是世界都市最早採用之軌道運輸系統,在歐美各古老都市中已運轉百餘年,且
            是在開發之初即擬定之運輸工具,因此輕軌運具與都市發展是一體的。因輕軌是屬於軌道系
            統中低運量之運輸型式,近年來許多原以公路系統為運輸主軸之都市,如洛杉磯、台北等,
            基於公路系統所引發之污染、交通擁塞、能源不能有效利用等缺失,紛紛再求引進軌道系統,
            但因輕軌系統有輕軌捷運(LRRT、全線與相交路口為立體交叉之 A 型專用路權)或輕軌(LRT、
            全線與相交路口為平面交叉之 B 型路權)之差異,必須依據運量預測、地區特性、環境影響、
            經濟效益分析等結論,決定引進之系統技術型式之構造型式,但所衍生之交通運轉、路口處
            理與環境衝擊均需克服。本文即就輕軌運輸系統初步探討,以作為台灣地區未來引進輕軌運
            具之參考。

                                                       Abstract

                 Light-Rail Transit System, the early used rail transportation system in the metropolitan cities,
            was operated in the Europe and American ancient cities for over one hundred years.. Since this
            system was chosen in the planning stage, therefore it was contributed to the entirety of the city
            development. Due to Light-Rail Transit System is the type of medium-low transport volume, in
            recent years those cities such as Los Angel, Taipei.., based on the highway system as the
            transportation axle are considered to introduce the track system because of drawbacks of the
            pollution, congestion and the energy inefficiency. The difference between LRRT(the specific A-type
            right of way with intersection ) and LRT(the B-type right of way with at-grade intersection) is
            considered to determine the construction type of technology by the traffic volume predication,
            region characteristics, environment impact and economic benefit analysis. Also the introduced
            traffic operation, handle of cross intersections and EIA must be overcome.
