ABSTRACT
"Taipei Metro" has been developed for over 35 years and is the most important and
convenient public transportation system in Taiwan. In 2023, it was voted as one of
the top ten best public transportation systems globally. However, most of the Taipei
Metro system is constructed in the prime areas of Taipei City, and therefore, the
main route design predominantly utilizes the shield tunnel method. The
construction of the Taipei Metro has accumulated rich experience and records.
However, in the past, information dissemination, speed, and preservation methods
were not well-developed, resulting in the ineffective recording and preservation of
operational parameters during shield tunneling construction. By establishing a
shield tunneling construction database, past construction data can be efficiently
collected and a standardized format for shield tunneling construction data can be
established. This not only facilitates the continuous expansion of shield tunneling
construction data but also allows for further application of the data, reducing the
occurrence of accidents in future shield tunneling construction and improving
construction efficiency and quality.
This paper will further explain the collection of shield tunneling construction data,
the establishment of standardized forms, and the development of a database
platform.
