                                              ABSTRACT

Traffic Maintenance Planning is utilized for the Circular Line South Sections
(DF115) and North Sections (DF116、DF117) of Taipei MRT which are located on
the south side of the central part of the Taipei City (Muzha area) and the Xindian,
Wugu,Sanchong, and Luzhou districts of New Taipei City. Projects include
stations, cross-over and Ventilation shafts with the cut and cover method, and
shield tunnels with shield machines. The main item of impact is station excavation.
This paper presents the traffic maintenance planning for the Circular Line South
Sections (DF115) and North Sections (DF116、DF117) of Taipei Metropolitan
Area Rapid Transit Systems Project. A special section dedicated to traffic
maintenance planning and supporting measures is included as well as the use of
VISSIM for improvements. Through proper design considerations, construction
sequence planning and traffic maintenance plans, the impacts on roads can be
minimized. This article will also present traffic maintenance planning for detailed
special road sections of each standard and simulation results.
