Introduction to the Neihu MRT Line’s Power Supply System

Abstract
Taipei Medium Capacity Transit (MCT) system is an automatic driverless train control
system, and its power supply and distribution (PS&D) sub-system is an integral part of the
core E&M system. Its primary function is to provide a reliable and stable power source to meet
the needs of operating vehicles and all fixed facilities. As the Neihu line is an extension of the
existing Muzha MCT system, this article aims to provide a general introduction to the Neihu line
including power supply and distribution system, concept design, structural overview, primary
system functionality, and major power facilities and components. This article also illustrates major
differences in terms of PS&D between the Neihu line and the existing Muzha line.
