                              Review of Technological Improvements on

                                   Actions Taken to Enhance Reliability

                                         from Initial Stage Until Present




                                                       Abstract

                 The Wenhu line, the only driverless medium-capacity transit system in Taipei, began service on
            July 4, 2009. The current moving block system was developed from its original fixed block system
            on the Muzha line.
                 At the initial stage, system instabilities induced frequent delays and great inconvenience to
            passengers, causing public outrage. With collective effort, related staff pinpointed instability factors
            and took improvement measures. At present, the Wenhu line provides the public with smooth and
            stable service, and its reliability and service quality have improved dramatically. With customer-first
            service and using the most advanced technology available, Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation will
            continue to endeavor to improve system reliability and service quality.
