                                                       Abstract

                   A section of the Xinzhuang & Luzhou line is scheduled to begin commercial service
               before the end of 2010. On this occasion, a total of 11 characteristic construction methods
               applied to the entire Xinzhuang line and the Luzhou line have been organized for the purpose

               of introducing their construction process. After review, we realize that, unsurprisingly, the
               reasons for adopting these construction methods are to overcome sensitive stratum, minimize
               the impact on surrounding traffic flow, lower the risk of affecting buildings along the MRT

               routes, enhance construction efficiency, reduce costs, etc. In the past nine years of construction,
               a number of techniques have been used for the first time in the nation. This article aims to
               provide construction experiences and suggestions with the hope of creating enhancement and
               innovation on future routes.
